This essay reflects the idea of “philological retrospection” that Carlo Ginzburg makes in his book Aún aprendo (2021) to problematize and methodologically complex his research. In the same way, conceptualizations about the analytical links between philology, translation, and the historian craft are formulated as a form of a posteriori methodological reflection
