Categories. A reflection on the practice of classifying

Abstract

The theme of this article is "categories". You could call them "images", "representations" or "concepts". I choose the first word on purpose. Category refers, in the reflection on knowledge, to the idea of models for the organisation of perceptions, of "reality". In other words, it connotes an active, structuring, creative (poietic) capacity in the modelling of knowledge.
